Levi's 1 week

Today we took Levi for his 1 week doctor appointment. His stats are below and I compared them with Dylan's and they were pretty much the same size at 1 week. Levi has been eating well and sleeping a lot (better during the day of course). Dylan is starting to show more and more interest in him and now likes to kiss and touch him.

Levi at 1 week:
Weight: 8 lbs. - 50% - Dylan was exactly the same weight
Height: 20 1/4 inches - 75% - Dylan was 1 inch longer
Head: 14 inches 1/8 inches - 50% - Dylan's head was exactly the same size

Steven and I are tyring to adjust to the busy lifestyle with a newborn and a almost two year old. My mom and Madalena have been a tremendous help!

My precious boys!

Levi's First Pictures

We came home on Saturday and are settling in at home. Levi is an all night eater and daytime sleeper - lucky me! I am very tired but know how blessed I am to have such a healthy baby boy. Steven and my mom have been a big help so that I can take naps during the day and they are feeding me well. Below are some of Levi's first pictures.

Levi William Ward Arrives

Levi William Ward was born 9/16/09 at 11:12am. He was 7 lbs. 13 ozs. and 19.5 inches long. He looks a lot like Dylan did as a baby but even more like Steven's baby pictures than Dylan did. We are so thankful that he is healthy and doing well. I seem to be recovering faster also! If all continues to go well we are going home tomorrow.

Dylan has been staying at home with my mom and seems to be doing well. His first visit to the hospital could have been better but today he visited again and it went more smoothly. He still has no interest in the baby but at least likes Steven and me. It will be nice to get home and be with both of my babies!

Once I get home I will add pictures.

Delivery Update

My c-section is now scheduled for tomorrow 9/16 at 10:30am. Stay tuned and Steven should let everyone know when our little one arrives. I am going to try and get some sleep tonight although I am very nervous and excited.

September Update

Well I have been very tired and preoccupied lately, but here is what has been going on with us this September. We stayed home and had a nice, relaxing (as it can be with a 22 month old and being 37 weeks preggo) Labor Day weekend. We spent time swimming and also went to a friends Labor Day party and Dylan was able to play with a lot of little kids. It was very nice to have Steven home an extra day!

At my weekly doctor appointment the following week my blood pressure was borderline high but she let me go and just told me to watch it. Well the next day it was high when I checked, so I spent a few days in and out of the hospital but so far have always gotten to come home. The doctor told me to be a couch potato so last weekend we stayed in and enjoyed the rainy weather. Dylan was sick also (the joys of him starting school). Dylan seems to be doing well in school and we are hoping at some point he is excited to go. He is talking more than ever, trying to count (in Engligh and Spanish), enojys coloring and doing puzzles. He is now into dinosaurs and sharks and mainly comments on their big teeth.

Tomorrow I have my weekly doctor appointment and if my blood pressure is high we may get to have the baby tomorrow, if not Thursday is the plan. I am getting very anxious to meet the new baby and also worried about how Dylan will handle all of this (may be the cause for my high blood pressure). Please pray for a healthy baby boy, safe delivery (surgery) and fast recovery. Please also pray for Dylan as this will be a big shock/adjustment for him.

Zimmerman Grandparents Visit

Steven's mom and Joe came to Houston for the weekend. Dylan enjoyed showing them his toys and playing with them. He especially liked the pig and frog they brought him. On Monday night they took him to ride the horses (carousel) at the mall which he loves. Dylan is still very serious when he rides and does not wave because he has to hold on, but this time we did get a few smiles out of him.

Dylan's 1st Day of School

I was very anxious about Dylan's first day of school (mother's day out) but he did awesome! Before we left the house I had him all excited to go play with his friends and wear his jumping shoes (tennis shoes). He would not carry his backpack but walked like a big boy into the school building. I hung around for a little while but we were both sad when I left. His teachers said he just cried for a little while and then was a good boy. His daily report said he was cheerful and content and even took a one hour nap at school on his nap mat - I wish I could have seen that!

Well I think Dylan did better than me because once I left the classroom I had to put on my sunglasses and rush to the car so no one else could tell I was about to lose it. I had a good cry but know that this is a good experience for Dylan and it helps knowing he really seems to enjoy it so far. I was also upset with myself for forgetting to take his 1st day picture before school so the one below is when I picked him up. When I picked him up he was still a little groggy from his nap but said "bye friends" and was ready to come home.

Day #2 went smoothly as well and his daily report said he was cheerful. The teacher also wrote that he was very smart and had a good morning. I am so proud of him and think he is very social like his dad. Again when I picked him up he was happy and said "bye friends!"
