Thanksgiving Week

We had a busy but festive Thanksgiving week. Steven's mom, Joe and Bryan came in town Wednesday and Thursday we left for the ranch. Dylan was very excited to see Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Bryan. They took him to the museum of natural science to see the dinosaurs. Thursday morning we packed it up for the ranch and stayed through Sunday. My mom cooked a fabulous dinner and we even had fried turkey! My sisters family joined us on Friday and the kids had a great time playing all weekend. Dylan's favorites were driving Layla's jeep and chasing the moo cows. Levi just enjoyed being outside and started taking some steps on his own. He is not walking yet but we are getting close. Below are a lot of pics from our week.

Pacifier Update

Steven took Dylan's pacifer away on Sunday night and we had an awful night. Monday, Dylan did not nap all day and Steven took him with his pacifers in a bad to ToyRus where he turned them in for more dinosaurs (we let him pick a toy)! He feel asleep on the car ride home but then woke up at 2:30 am and did not go back to sleep until noon Tuesday. He took a one hour nap and then Steven had to hold him in bed last night and he finally fell asleep at 9. He made it until 5:30am which was our best night so far.

I knew he loved his pacifers but I was not aware that he would be unable to even lay down/relax with out them. He just says that is is not fair. It still breaks my heart to see him so upset but the no sleeping is wearing on me. I hope to get back to our normal schedule soon.

His Uncle Bryan, Grandma and Grandpa Joe are coming in town so hopefully that will distract him.

Rough Night

Steven took all of Dylan's pacifers away yesterday. We have been planning to do this since he is now 3 but I could not bring myself to do this. It was a hard night for Dylan and me since he slept with me all night! Hopefully tonight will be better. I know this is best for Dylan but it was so sad to see how upset he was. I am glad Steven is tough enough to be the enforcer because I am definitely not. I hate to see my babies cry.

Tis The Season

The boys school had their school Christmas party tonight. Levi was very tired and wanted nothing to do with Santa. Dylan loved the animals, crafts, Santa and friends. He told Santa he wanted more dinosaurs!

3 year check-up

Today I took Dylan for his 3 year check-up. He was such a big boy (until the shot part) he even got a gown to wear. His stats are below but we are very thankful for his health!

Vegas

Steven and I escaped to Vegas for a long weekend. We had a fabulous time with Ryan and Jessica and I even hit the jackpot on the quarter slot machine! I got my first W-2 from Vegas. The boys did very well at home so there is hope for more adult vacations in my future!

Wurstfest 2010

Since all the birthday celebrations we have been enjoying our nice weather. Dylan loves riding his new bike so we hang out in the driveway/garage a lot. We have only ventured out of our gate with Dylan on his bike a few times but it is great exercise for me because I literally have to run to keep up with him. Levi is getting closer and closer to walking and pushes Dylan's old tricycle or train around and tries to keep up with his big brother. Levi just loves being outside - I think he would stay out all day if he could. Last weekend we went to Austin. On Saturday we went to Layla's last soccer game and then Wurstfest in New Braunfels, TX. Dylan rode his 1st roller coaster and loved the big slide. It was awesome weather and a really fun day.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my big boy

Today was Dylan's real 3rd birthday. We had his school friends and Hunter over to play. He is always very excited when friends come over. Then we anxiously awaited for Steven to come home so we could give him his birthday surprise. We gave him a big boy Dino Bike! He was so excited that he did not want to some in for dinner/cake/presents, he just wanted to ride his new bike! We finally got him in the house for the rest of his birthday celebration. His other favorites were dinosaur books from Uncle Bryan, dinosaurs for the bath tub and a doctor kit from Nana. Happy Birthday Dylan - Mommy and Daddy are so proud of their big 3 year old!

We celebrated my moms birthday this weekend also while my sister and her family were in town. My sister and I took her to brunch at Brio Sunday morning and then we came home and had cake and ice cream with the kids. Happy Birthday Mom!
