Almost There

Well we are about 23 days away from baby boy #2. At my last dr visit she said everything looked good - big baby with chubby cheeks! Last weekend we went on our last road trip for awhile to Austin for Juliet's baptism. It was also Melinda's b-day. My parents, Steven and I keep all the kids Saturday night so Melinda and Craig could go out for a nice dinner and it was wild. It was good practice for Dylan and me though. I was able to feed Juliet her bottle and search in the baby bag for Dylan's blue pacifier to keep him calm. Layla did have to help me out some. Juliet is such a good, sweet, happy baby - I hope my little guy is like that also. He is more active than Dylan was at this point so that has me a little worried.

I am getting to the very uncomfortable point so I am thanking God for Steven, Magdalena and my mom. These days I am taking any help I can get with Dylan. He is very active and has way more energy than me. It has been and I am sure will continue to be a hard adjustment for Dylan and I - he is so use to me always taking care of him, bathing him, putting him to bed, etc. I am still good at the putting him to bed and reading books but have been letting Steven do most of the other stuff. It makes me a little sad that I will not get as much time with him but I know one day he will be so happy to have a little playmate. Dylan starts school on Monday. He is just going two days a week. He seems to love playing with other children so I am hoping he will enjoy it.

I also have to mention that Dylan is super into Dora and Boots lately. He watches the cartoon every morning and requests it be on anytime the TV is on. He also has a Dora coloring book which he colors in once a day. I think that is all that is going on with us.

Getting ready for baby and lakehouse

The first weekend in August we finally stayed home - yeah! It was very nice not to travel and we actucally got a lot of chores done around the yard house. I was able to get some much needed sleep also. We have started putting the baby room back together and sorted thorugh all of Dylan's old clothes and gear. We are not done but getting closer to being ready so I am feeling less anxious. Dylan was able to play/swim with Tyler and Steven and I went to an adults dinner to celebrate Ryan's b-day.

Last weekend we went to my parents lakehouse. My sister's family also came so we had a big time. Dylan was able to go on nature walks, boat rides, tube rides and even the jet ski which he called a baby boat. All the kids together were wild but you could tell they were having a blast. I think Dylan will be begging to go back to the lake!

Uncle Bryan comes to visit, train table and Port A

The weekend of July 24th, Steven's little brother, Bryan came to visit. Bryan is about to go off to college and wanted Steven to take him deep sea fishing. The night Bryan arrived we bought Dylan a train table for his new room. Dylan was super excited about Bryan being here and also about his train table. It was hard to get him to go to sleep the 1st night we had it and he even wanted to play trains in the mornings before breakfast. Below are some pictures from Bryan's visit and our Port A weekend.

Camp Update

I am so far behind but before I make a new post I wanted to say Dylan ended up doing very well at summer camp and I think he had a fun time. He learned that frogs say "Ribbit" and how to march. He would get upset when I left him but by the last few days he made it with no tears. What a big boy.

Below are pics of Dylan hunting lizards in the back yard before camp one morning and him swimming in the bathtub. He loves to kick and blow bubbles in the bath now.

Dylan goes to camp

Today was Dylan's first day of summer camp. It is a two week program at Yorkshire Academy from 9-12 everyday. This is a big step for us because we have never dropped him off before and left him anywhere (except swim class for 30 min and we watch through the window). This morning went very well but I do not think Dylan knew I was leaving for so long. He was busy playing with the toys in the classroom when I left so I am very anxious to go pick him up and see how he did. I am also anxious to see how dropping him off goes tomorrow when he knows I am leaving for awhile. Below are some pictures I took of his first day - he is getting to be such a big boy.

Catch up since my last entry: Steven has been gone for work and then a fishing tournament (his fathers day present) and Dylan and I have been staying very busy. We have been going to Gymboree twice a week and swim class once a week. We have also been using our own pool a lot as Dylan loves to swim and play in the water. Dylan also likes to help water the backyard. I give him his own water hose and he waters the flowers he likes and also usually fills us his baby pool. I water the rest of the yard - but he has a great time helping. Over the weekend Dylan and I went with my high school girlfriends and their kids to Canyon Lake. Dylan was very well behaved and we had a nice relaxing weekend. We were only able to swim for a little while due to weather but Dylan was able to feed the deer several times which he loved. Tara has some pics of all the kiddos so I will add those when I get them. Below are some pictures of Dylan playing in the backyard.

I am also starting to get very anxious about baby boy #2 arrival. The dr set my c-section date for September 17th so I am not less than 2 months away and starting to feel like it. I am trying to get everything around the house ready which has been challenging so far. We have moved Dylan to the bigger bedroom and put the crib back together but we still have lots to do!

Busy, Busy and July 4th

Last Sunday (Sunday before the 4th) we were suppose to go on a family trip to Steven's dad's house. Right as we left the house my dad called and Momma Jolene's nursing home had left him a message in France. I called to check on her and she had fallen and hit her head and needed to go to the ER. So Steven and Dylan went to Wharton and I went to the ER. Momma Jolene ended up being fine just a nasty bump, two black eyes and lots of swelling. Steven and Dylan had a good time visiting his dad and Stephanie. Dylan chased chickens around and enjoyed the space to roam.

Last week Dylan had a few milestones but I have been too busy to post until now. Last week he started catching a ball - he has always been good at throwing but now can catch. He also pooped on the potty twice. Since then we are still trying but also trying not to force him. He is now telling us he has to poop but sometimes he has already gone before we make it to the potty. He went to his swim class again on Thursday and again did well with swimming but cried the whole time. My parents are in France so we picked up Bentley last Thursday from boarding and will have him until this Friday. Dylan loves him but I think he drives the dog crazy. He constantly wants to feed him or throw balls at him. We also were able to meet Grandma Clarice for dinner and briefly catch-up with her which is always nice.

For the 4th we went to the ranch with my sisters family. It was super hot but we all enjoyed the pool and Dylan enjoyed playing with his cousins, the moo cows and sitting on the tractors. Steven tried to take Dylan fishing but Dylan jumped/fell into the pond. I agree with him that it was too hot to fish! None of us made it until 10pm for the Giddings fireworks show. Who stays up that late anymore? Also the evening on July 4th there was some racing at the ranch. No one is sure how it started but first Melinda and Steven raced - Steven won but Melinda kind of quit early on. Then Steven and Nancy (Craig's mom raced) and due to uneven surfaces Steven won again and then Steven and Craig raced and Craig won! It was wild and hilarious although the kids were not too sure what was going on. We have the whole thing on video and Steven plans to post on utube eventually.

Tots swim class

Yesterday was Dylan's first Tots swim class which means without Steven or I. As anticipated he cried/screamed the entire time which everyone reassured Steven and I that was normal. The teacher was awesome with him and said he did a good job with his floating etc., but it will just take some time for him to adjust to me or Steven leaving him. Hopefully next Thursday will go better!
