2 year old minds

I have to share mine and Dylan's bath time conversation from last night. I was complaining to him about my weight and he said he did not want me to be fat or skinny just mommy! So I replied that I could be whatever I wanted and he laughed and said I could not be crazy! I thought that was too funny so I repeated myself to see if he would say it again and this time he said I could not be anyone else's mommy! I just laughed and thought how nice it would be to be a 2 year old again!

April has flown by for us. We have closed on our new house and not sold our old house yet. We are doing some remodeling at the new house so we do not plan to move until mid June. Needless to say house stuff has been keeping us very busy especially Steven. We did go to Austin for Juliet's 1st birthday party. It was a special celebration since she is such a miracle baby. She is already walking and a very wild 1 year old!

Levi is doing well. He is making slow progress with his moving. He now scoots a little bit backwards while on him tummy and can sit for a little while by himself (I keep the boppy pillow around him b/c he does fall over). He has been getting more feisty lately and gets upset when he drops a toy or cannot reach something. He is still waking up at least 2 times a night to eat but I am thinking I may have to let him cry it out soon. We now have his eczema under control thinks to some creams from the doctor so he looks much better and more importantly is less itchy. This weekend he is getting baptized so Sunday will be a special day for him.

After coming home from Juliet's birthday weekend Dylan had a bad fall in the driveway and hit his face on the curb. I am thankful that I did not see the accident because Steven and the neighbors that saw it said it was awful. Thank God he is OK but he looked liked he has been in a bad fight for about a week. I pray that he will be careful and not be so accident prone. I had my first teacher/parent conference yesterday with his teacher and he got an excellent report. I was surprised to hear that he was quiet at school because at home he is such a talker. I guess he may be more like me than Steven!

Bad Haircut

For some reason I decided I would give Dylan haircut yesterday. It went very badly and we rushed to Cool Cuts for kids to get it fixed. Dylan's hair is now shorter than ever but he still looks precious! Luckily it did not phase him one bit and he could not understand why I was laughing and saying I'm sorry. Needless to say I will not be giving any more haircuts anytime soon if ever.

My bad haircut waiting to get it fixed:

Easter at the ranch

We spent Easter weekend at the ranch with my parents. The wild flowers are in full bloom and make everything look beautiful there. On Saturday our friends Jimmy, Rochelle and their son Austin joined us. The boys had a big time fishing and playing with the tractor. Dylan hooked and reeled in his first fish. I do not know who was more excited Dylan or Steven! Dylan and Steven spent the weekend throwing rocks in the creek, driving in the jeep to see the moo cows, fishing and playing with Austin. I spent most of the weekend at the house with Levi, my mom and Rochelle. Levi is not up for hanging out in the pastures yet but I am sure he will be soon. My dad also had a dirt project going on so of course Dylan got some early lessons on moving dirt! Lots of pictures below.

Azaleas

Our azaleas are in full bloom again. They are so pretty I had to take a few pictures of the boys with them. Since our house is for sale right now this may be our last year with our beautiful azaleas! Maybe the new owners will let us come back and take pictures each year.

Boys Zoo Trip

Steven and Dylan went to the zoo Sunday morning. It was beautiful weather and Dylan was very excited to see all the animals. It was nice for me and Levi to have a little alone time also!

Sensitive Stomach

At 6 months we started feeding Levi cereal and vegetables. His stomach and skin did not seem to handle the change so well so we are back to just rice cereal and sweet potatoes, green peas and pears. Hopefully we can try and expand his diet again soon!

Levi is 6 Months & Rodeo

Levi's first six months has gone by really fast. I took him for his 6 month check-up today and the doctor said he was big and looked good. His stats are below:

Weight - 19 pounds, 5 ounces - 75-90%
Height - 27.5 inches - 75-90%
Head - 18 inches - 90-95%

Last week I starting feeding Levi rice cereal. It took him a few feedings but now he seems to be really enjoying it. Below are some pictures from his first real food feeding. Levi seems to be a happy boy. He still wakes up a lot at night to eat of course! He has been sleeping a little better since we started cereal so there is hope. He talks and laughs a lot especially at Dylan. He spends most of his days at home playing on his floor mat, his bouncy chair and in his jumper. We have started bathing the boys together at night and they both seem to enjoy it. Dylan cuts up and Levi laughs at him and kicks and splashes around. Levi is still not big on moving to much but the doctor suspected this was because he is so heavy!

Dylan seems to be enjoying having a little brother more and more and when he gets home from school he tells Levi he missed him and gives him a lot of kisses! This brings happy tears to my eyes every time! Praise and thank God for my boys!

Last weekend Steven took Dylan to the rodeo Friday night (boys nights out)! Dylan loves seeing the moo cows and other animals. On Saturday my sister and her family were in town so we took the big kids. My parents watched Levi and Juliet. We all had a great time at the rodeo and Layla, Dylan and River all sat through and enjoyed most of the rodeo!
