Dinosaurs

Today Kim and I took Dylan, Levi and Abby to the zoo. A new dinosaur exhibit has just opened and Dylan was very excited. The dinosaurs were so life like that Dylan and Abby were scared! Dylan was shaking and then cried. He claims he still liked them and wants to go back and see them again! It was a hot but fun day at the zoo and we even all rode the train before we left.

Last Day of School

I was very sad about Dylan's last day of school. He loved his teachers and school friends so much and always was excited to go. I tried to explain to him what last day meant but I do not think he understood. Below is a picture of Dylan in his classroom. We have a few outings planned with the other kids from his class for this summer so hopefully we will see them all again soon!

Levi's 1st Beach Trip

Last weekend we headed to Port A. Dylan was excited to be heading back to the beach and talked about it all week. He packed his suitcase (swimsuits and pajamas) Tuesday afternoon after school. We left Thursday morning. The boys were good on the long car ride and the weather was decent when we arrived so we headed to the beach. This was Levi's 1st time to play in the sand and ocean and he seemed to like it. I kept a pacifier in his mouth to prevent his from eating too much sand. Friday the weather was bad so we had a relaxing condo day and Steven took Dylan on a dolphin boat tour. Dylan was able to throw fish in the water for the dolphins to eat and see other sea life that they caught in nets. He loved it! Saturday afternoon the weather was awesome and we stayed at the beach until 6:30pm. Levi took a long nap in my lap under the umbrella. Dylan ran around like crazy and made friends. He loves to chase the birds, jump over sea weed, run in the water (not to far) and dig in the sand. Steven went off shore fishing early Sunday morning and the boys and I headed back to Houston. The weather was really nice so we were sad to leave and I was a little nervous about the long car ride by myself with the boys. They did great but now that we are home and back to work and school we miss the beach life!

Levi turned 8 months this weekend - I can not believe it. My baby is getting too old too fast. He still acts a lot like a baby and I am thankful for that. I need a little more baby time except for the waking up a night.

Birthday & Mother's Day

I had a fabulous birthday. My mom really spoiled me which was awesome! We shopped all afternoon and then had a nice dinner. When I got home Dylan was super excited to wish me a happy birthday and show off the cake him and Steven had made. His excitement about birthdays really makes them a lot more fun.

Although Levi was sick with the stomach bug and I had to do some swimsuit shopping I still had a good mothers day. Dylan was excited that it was my special day again and kept wanting us to eat cake. I hope he is always sweet on my birthday and mothers day!

Levi's Baptism

This afternoon Levi was baptized at St. John Vianney. It was a nice ceremony and he was one of about 8 babies baptized. My parents, sister and her family and Steven's dad were all there. I have to admit I was not super tuned it because I had a sick 2 year old hanging on me. Dylan got the stomach virus the night before and still felt pretty awful. All the pictures are on my dad's and sisters cameras so I will add them soon. Levi did look precious and was very well behaved. He just made a frowning/confused face when the water was poured over his head. He is such a sweet baby I always feel like his does not get all the attention he deserves but I guess that is part of being the second child.

This was also a big weekend for Levi because he started officially sitting up. He still wobbles some but for the most part can sit up by himself! He is still not rolling or crawling but he does scoot backwards. Good job Levi!

2 year old minds

I have to share mine and Dylan's bath time conversation from last night. I was complaining to him about my weight and he said he did not want me to be fat or skinny just mommy! So I replied that I could be whatever I wanted and he laughed and said I could not be crazy! I thought that was too funny so I repeated myself to see if he would say it again and this time he said I could not be anyone else's mommy! I just laughed and thought how nice it would be to be a 2 year old again!

April has flown by for us. We have closed on our new house and not sold our old house yet. We are doing some remodeling at the new house so we do not plan to move until mid June. Needless to say house stuff has been keeping us very busy especially Steven. We did go to Austin for Juliet's 1st birthday party. It was a special celebration since she is such a miracle baby. She is already walking and a very wild 1 year old!

Levi is doing well. He is making slow progress with his moving. He now scoots a little bit backwards while on him tummy and can sit for a little while by himself (I keep the boppy pillow around him b/c he does fall over). He has been getting more feisty lately and gets upset when he drops a toy or cannot reach something. He is still waking up at least 2 times a night to eat but I am thinking I may have to let him cry it out soon. We now have his eczema under control thinks to some creams from the doctor so he looks much better and more importantly is less itchy. This weekend he is getting baptized so Sunday will be a special day for him.

After coming home from Juliet's birthday weekend Dylan had a bad fall in the driveway and hit his face on the curb. I am thankful that I did not see the accident because Steven and the neighbors that saw it said it was awful. Thank God he is OK but he looked liked he has been in a bad fight for about a week. I pray that he will be careful and not be so accident prone. I had my first teacher/parent conference yesterday with his teacher and he got an excellent report. I was surprised to hear that he was quiet at school because at home he is such a talker. I guess he may be more like me than Steven!
